Adaptive programs, designed for guests with special needs, offer two options. 2-hour lessons are offered ($55 for students needing only 1 Instructor, and $70 for guests requiring 2 Instructors).
The Adaptive program includes a 2-hr lift pass & appropriate, specific adaptive equipment for use during the lesson.

Ski Butternut is fortunate to have instructors who are certified to teach people with special needs how to ski or snowboard. We are prepared to teach people with a number of different disabilities, including Autism, blindness and Cerebral Palsy. Our specially skilled teachers also work with ski or snowboarders who are developmentally disabled or who are mobility-impaired, individuals who require walkers, and other special-needs children or individuals. Please call ahead! These specially trained instructors can only take lessons by appointment only. Call 413-528-2000 (extension 150). Ski Butternut's adaptive program now has a "Bi-Ski" that accommodates a person of no more than 175lbs, with a maximum height of 5'9".

Skiing is a terrific sport that everyone should have the opportunity to experience. Help us make this experience more accessible to all. The Ski Butternut Adaptive Ski School is very fortunate to have some individuals who have already made considerable donations, allowing the school to purchase some very specialized equipment (our latest purchase a Ski-Slider-Walker which cost $1500). More equipment is always needed.
