The Development Program is for skiers ages 6-10 who are displaying wedge christie turns or higher and are interested in discovering different aspects of skiing including, but not limited to race, all-mountain, and freestyle. Skiers must be able to load, ride, and unload a chairlift independently and safely. Children are assigned to groups based on their age and ability. The instructional focus of the program is developing strong skiing fundamentals in a fun, supportive, non-competitive learning environment. Instructors will introduce skiers to the fundamentals of racing, all-mountain, and freestyle techniques through fun drills and games. Instructors prioritize keeping students excited about skiing and preparing them with the fundamental skills to progress to competitive racing programs like Interclub or recreational programs like All Mountain Explorers. This program is ideal for students looking to make new friends who share their excitement about skiing and explore their options for future seasons. The program ends with a fun race for all participants on the last Saturday of the program.
