Description
Snowcat Operators groom the mountain each night to ensure the best possible conditions for our guests each morning. In this position, you will be grooming trails including moving snow, flattening snow, building features and compacting snow. Operators should focus on the quality of the product they are producing and take great pride in making great snow.
Requirements
- Prior grooming experience is preferred but not required.
- Prior heavy equipment operation or ski industry experience is desirable.
- 18 years of age or older
- Equipment operation background and experience with diesel engine/hydraulic machines
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Must be punctual, reliable, able to follow instructions, and work as part of a team
- Operators must be able to avoid all hazards to the equipment or themselves
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Learns and maintains a working knowledge of grooming equipment.
- Maintains an awareness of surroundings and the safest way to navigate the equipment.
- Completes all tasks safely with no damage to equipment or to areas of work.
- The proficient use of vehicle attachments like compactor bars, tillers, and blades.
- Responsible for pre-trip inspections of grooming equipment before each shift; conducts regular maintenance checks on equipment, including checking fluid levels, bolts, belts, track tensions, etc
- Documents and reports mechanical and safety issues, completes maintenance logs and checklists; performs light maintenance or repairs on equipment
- Operates snowmobiles and UTVs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions
Dates of Employment
- Shift hours: 8 - 12 hours depending on variables
- Employment Dates: November - April
- This is a full-time seasonal position with the opportunity to become a full-time year-round position with benefits.
