Description
Ski Butternut is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounting, Payroll and Guest Services professional to support the resort's financial operations and guest experience. This year-round, fulltime position is responsible for payroll administration, bookkeeping, accounting support and guest services functions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced seasonal environment, maintain accurate financial records and provide exceptional service to guests, employees, vendors and management.
What You’ll Do
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including regular wages, overtime, deductions, reimbursements, seasonal staffing changes & adjustments.
- Maintain employee payroll records and timekeeping information.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.
- Prepare payroll reports, ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations.
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Record day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger using accounting software.
- Manage accounts payable, prepare basic financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance summaries, cash flow updates and expense reports.
- Organize receipts, invoices, payroll files, tax documents and other financial records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing, budget tracking, tax preparation, audits and CPA requests.
- Work closely with department managers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Guest Services
- Support front-office operations during peak business periods.
- Assist guests with season passes, lift tickets, lessons, rentals and general resort information. Process payments, refunds and account adjustments.
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests in person, by phone and electronically. Address guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Help maintain a welcoming and positive guest experience consistent with Ski Butternut's family-friendly culture.
Administrative Support
- Maintain confidential employee and financial information.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and spreadsheets.
- Assist the Business Manager with administrative and operational projects.
- Support office operations and interdepartmental communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll, bookkeeping, accounting or administrative experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures and accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office - especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality, recreation, ski resort or seasonal business operations.
- Familiarity with seasonal workforce management and point-of-sale systems.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts payroll and employment regulations.
