I purchased a Youth or Adult Lesson online: where do I pick up my ticket?
All lesson participants must check in to pick up their lesson tickets and RFID cards (if applicable) at the Rental Shop. If guests have a season pass and their own equipment, they are still asked to check in prior to their lesson.
Check-in opens at 7:45 a.m. (weekends and holiday periods) or 8:30 a.m. (weekdays).
Can family/friends be placed together in a group lesson?
If family members or friends of the same age and ability want to be placed in the same group, we can accommodate the request.
If family members or friends of the same age and different abilities want to be placed in the same group, we can accommodate the request by placing students together in the lower-ability group
Accommodating family members or friends of different ages and/or abilities who want to be placed in the same group will be at the discretion of the Snowsports School supervisor.
What happens if I am late for a lesson?
Youth and Adult Lessons: we cannot guarantee accommodation for participants who arrive at their lesson meeting place past the scheduled lesson start time.
Private Lessons: Guests schedule 1-, 2-, or 3-hour sessions at designated times. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated past the session's scheduled end time.
Can I purchase “day of” Youth, Adult, or private lesson at the mountain?
Group and private lessons frequently sell out; we recommend allowing at least three weeks in advance for Private Lessons and two weeks in advance for Youth and Adult group lessons. We encourage guests to purchase group lessons onlineand call to book a private in advance. Guest may inquire about “day of” availability in the rental shop at the Lesson desk.
Which lifts can I use with the Beginner Package?
The Beginner Lift Ticket is valid only for Surface lifts and Paddy's chairlift. The Beginner Lift ticket is NOT valid for main mountain chairlifts.
If a guest wishes to access the main mountain chairlifts, they will need to upgrade their ticket at the Main Office for an additional fee.
Rentals FAQs
I purchased Rentals online; where do I pick them up?
Guests pick up their rentals at the Rental Shop. As you approach from the parking lot, the Rental Shop is the grey building on the right.
The Rental Shop opens at 7:45AM (weekends and holiday periods) or 8:30AM (weekdays).
The rental equipment fitting process can take up to one hour.
Can I rent just ski boots for my skis at the Rental Shop?
No. Our rental technicians are only certified to adjust bindings within our rental fleet.
Can I use my own boots when renting skis or a board?
Yes. You may use your own boots when renting skis/boards. However, there is NO prorated price for renting only skis or a board.
Can I rent equipment for multiple days?
Yes. When purchasing online guest can choose 1-,2-, or 3-day rentals.
Is there a place to store my equipment overnight?
We do not offer overnight equipment storage. If you purchased a multi-day rental package, you must take them back to your residence at the end of the day. It is important to bring your boots inside overnight. Do NOT leave them in your car. A cold boot can be difficult to put on in the morning, as they are less pliable.
Are Helmets included with rental packages?
Helmets are NOT included with the rental package. Helmets are available for an additional $15 fee.
Lift Ticket FAQs
Where do I carry my RFID Card?
Guests must carry their RFID Card in a LEFT pocket ALONE.
- All customers must have an RFID Reload Card to access the lifts.
- Place in a secure pocket ALONE. Do not place with wallet, keys, credit cards, phones, other RFID Cards, or any other items that may interfere with the signal.
- Please use your LEFT POCKET ONLY. Right side pockets will not scan. The card should be placed between shoulder and waist height. A side, arm, or chest pocket is recommended.
- Children’s passes should be located as high as possible. Helmet sleeves work well.
Do I need a need a lift ticket to use the Surface lifts?
Yes. All guests who ride a Surface lift must purchase a lift ticket.
Can I ride a Surface lift without skis/board?
No. Using the Surface lifts without skis or boards is prohibited for safety reasons.
Can I purchase Lift Tickets at Ski Butternut?
Yes. Lift tickets can be purchased at the Main Office and in the Rental Shop. Ski Butternut strongly recommends guest PURCHASE LIFT TICKETS ONLINE
What facilities (Food, ATM, Wi-Fi, Lockers, Bathrooms) does the mountain have?
