Cost of Plan: $30 per pass for all age groups and pass types (Unlimited & Mid-Week)

1. Coverage Overview

The Ski Butternut Pass Protection Plan provides financial protection for season pass holders in the event of unforeseen circumstances that prevent the use of a season pass. This Protection Plan is designed to credit the pass holder for their pass purchase under specific conditions outlined below.

2. Eligibility

All Ski Butternut season pass holders who have purchased this Protection Plan at the time of pass purchase are eligible for coverage. Protection Plan must be purchased at the same time as the season pass and cannot be added after the pass purchase date.

3. Coverage Types

The following Event situations are covered under this plan:

  • Medical Conditions: Injury, illness, or pregnancy that prevents skiing or snowboarding for the remainder of the season, as certified by a licensed and certified medical doctor.
  • Job Relocation: If the pass holder is required to relocate more than 200 miles away from Ski Butternut due to employment-related reasons for a period that includes the remainder of the 2025/2026 ski season.
  • Military Deployment: Involuntary call to active duty, either domestically or overseas, for military personnel.

4. Exclusions

The following Events are not covered under this plan:

  • Voluntary cessation of skiing or snowboarding (e.g., no longer interested in skiing).
  • Injuries or illnesses that are self-inflicted or arise from misconduct or substance abuse.
  • Participation in reckless behavior on Ski Butternut premises that results in the confiscation of the season pass by management.
  • Normal wear and tear or damage of personal equipment.
  • Lift closure, any alteration or change in operations, or normal wear and tear of Ski Butternut facilities.
  • Weather-related closures.

5. Claim Process

To make a claim under the Ski Butternut Pass Protection Plan, the pass holder must:

  1. Notify Ski Butternut: Provide notice of the claim in writing or via email within 14 calendar days of the Event causing the claim.
  2. Submit Required Documentation:
    1. Return the Ski Butternut Season’s Pass.
    2. For medical claims, submit a licensed and certified medical doctor’s certification of injury or illness.
    3. For relocation, submit documentation from the employer verifying the relocation.
    4. For military deployment, submit a copy of the deployment orders.
  3. Claim Review: Ski Butternut will review the claim within 14 business days of receiving all required documentation.
  4. Resolution: If the claim is approved, the pass holder will be eligible for a prorated credit toward the following season’s pass purchase. Guest is responsible for any difference in price. Credits will be calculated based upon Ski Butternut’s receipt of the notice identified herein, as follows:
    1. Before December 1: 100% credit.
    2. December 1 to December 31: 75% credit.
    3. January 1 to January 30: 50% credit.
    4. February 1 to February 28: 25% credit.
    5. No Credit amounts apply after February 28.

6. Limitations and Conditions

  • Cost of Protection Plan is non-refundable.
  • Credits are non-transferable.
  • Coverage is non-transferable.
  • All claims are subject to review and approval by Ski Butternut management.
  • Passholders may be asked for additional documentation to substantiate claims.
